First let’s clarify what a multivitamin is. Multivitamins, as their name suggests, contain many different vitamins and minerals at very small quantities. Doses in a multivitamin tend to be so low that there is generally not enough of one single vitamin to do much of any good, assuming the person does not have a gross deficiency. This does not include other vitamins or supplements, where one or two specific vitamins or minerals are given at higher doses.
